Welcome to DIMUN III

Honourable MUN Directors, esteemed delegates, respected committee Chairs and welcome guests,

DIMUN is back! The third annual Dulwich International Model United Nations conference (DIMUN III) will be held at Dulwich College Beijing from 22nd - 24th February 2013.

Model United Nations is a great opportunity for students to expand their knowledge of world affairs and improve their public speaking skills through research, discussion and debate with other international students that share the same passions.

At DIMUN III, Key Stage 3 (middle school) delegates will be debating a total of 24 topics in six different committees, ranging from government-sanctioned cyber warfare to human capital flight, sustainable forestry in the Amazon rainforest to the misuse of humanitarian aid, and the Israeli fence around the West Bank to the question of internet freedom. The conference will be supported by experienced Key Stage 4/5 (high school) Chairs and the DIMUNITE press team, led by Secretaries-General Kyoka Kosugi and Richard Zhuang.

KYOKA KOSUGI : Secretary-General

I am honoured to be serving as one of your Secretaries-General at the upcoming DIMUN III conference.

DIMUN is a place where delegates and committee Chairs can come together and bring Model UN to its full potential. Delegates, you will be able to leave three days of fruitful lobbying and debate as better debaters, diplomats and leaders, even more prepared to tackle the challenges that face the world today.

As this is my third DIMUN conference and fifth year in MUN, I am both excited and delighted to see the conference develop and grow bigger and better for DIMUN III! The Executive Team will be doing our best to plan another memorable experience at DIMUN III.

RICHARD ZHUANG : Secretary-General

Not once throughout my five years in Model United Nations have I regretted my participation.

I am very excited about the upcoming conference and I hope that it will not only be a great opportunity for all delegates and Chairs to engage in discussion aimed at solving real-world issues but also a great social opportunity for students. I have made many friends through MUN, and DIMUN III will provide delegates the opportunities to do the same.

It is my privilege to serve as one of your Secretaries-General, and I will try my hardest to give you an unforgettable experience at DIMUN.

JIN JU CHOI : Deputy Secretary-General

I am greatly honoured to serve as your Deputy Secretary-General at DIMUN III.

As a committed participant in MUN over the past two years, I have strengthened my teamwork, public speaking skills and most importantly, knowledge about current world issues.

I am certain that DIMUN III will provide opportunities for all delegates to do all this and more.

it is my privilege to participate in the upcoming DMUN III conference as your Deputy Secretary-General.

MUN is an opportunity to present and improve individual student's ability to discuss and understand world issues with depth and knowedeldge, as well as to establish and improve public speaking and analytical skills.

As one of the Deputy Secretaries-General, I will try my best to ensure that all participants of DIMUN III have a fruitful and academically fulfilling conference.
