The DIMUNITE Press Team

The DIMUNITE press team reports on what happens during the conference and produces a daily newspaper edition which is distributed to the conference delegates each morning. Articles on the conference, current world issues, as well as other miscellaneous articles and items (including games, cartoons, and pictures) will be included in each edition. Other members of the press team will include editors, photographers and layout designers. The press team will be expected to meet their daily deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality in their pieces - we aim to create the most realistic and professional press experience for participants. As such, being a member of the DIMUNITE press team offers a unique experience for students interested in literature, journalism, or world issues. Applicants must be in Years 7 to 11 (Grades 6 to 10).

Although all press participants are expected to focus on writing articles for the DIMUNITE, there are opportunities to get involved with other aspects of journalism. These include photojournalism/photo editing, press artwork, videography/video editing, and formatting/layout editing. Please state your individual preferences in the press application form found below.

The Editor-in-Chief of DIMUNITE for DIMUN II is Miranda Melcher, an experienced MUN participant from Dulwich College Beijing, who will be in touch with the selected journalists prior to the conference. Once selected, members of the press team will write articles to collaboratively produce the the first edition of DIMUNITE, which will be distributed on Friday 24th February 2012.

Please take note that Press will be required to attend an important briefing during the evening of Thursday, 23rd February, 2012 - the day before DIMUN II opens. Thus, if you are traveling with younger delegates, please be prepared to make appropriate travel arrangements.

If any students interested in applying for the DIMUNITE press team have questions, do not hesitate to email miranda.melcher@dulwich-beijing.cn.
